One of the best sushi places around! Staff is fantastic. Sushi is some of the best in Metro Detroit. My favorite is their Volcano roll.

I can't use enough positive adjectives to describe this place. We are huge sushi fans, so when we realized this place was in New Hudson about 9 months ago, we had to give it a try. We certainly weren't expecting to be blown away, but we were. Most of the time we prefer our sushi in Ann Arbor if possible, because other local offerings are just not great. Now this place is the standard we judge other sushi places by. The staff is totally amazing and very friendly. Unlike a previous review, our child has always been welcomed and a high chair available immediately for us. The food is so delicious we eat here at least once a week, if not twice. All the rolls are fresh, and every thing that we've tried has been top notch. Very reasonably priced which is completely shocking for how good the food is.

After reading so many positive reviews I thought I would try it out for myself. I decided to get carry out. Unfortunately I couldn't find a menu anywhere on line which I think they definitely should post one on Facebook or somewhere. So I had my husband stop in and grab one. He said it was small inside but very clean and inviting. We ordered a side salad with ginger dressing, the Michigan Roll (a California roll with Tuna and Salmon on top), California Roll, and the Chicken Teriyaki Don. The Sushi Rolls were pretty good. I think they were definitely smaller than most rolls I have had and I wish they offered brown rice as an option. They placed both rolls in the same container which meant that they also only gave you enough wasabi and pickled ginger for the one roll and they charged extra for more. The Chicken Teriyaki was good but my husband complained how small the portion was and I have to agree. It came with vegetables but mostly just shredded cabbage. The real shocker was the salad that came with the meal, it was actually two torn pieces of iceberg lettuce! My husband actually laughed out loud about it..... Really? I mean if they are going to skimp that much don't even include it with the meal. I ordered a small side salad to taste the ginger dressing (which I really liked) so I was actually able to compare how drastic the size difference was. His salad should have been the same size. Definitely would not order the Teriyaki Don again and if I'm dying for sushi I probably would order again because it's so close to me. Otherwise I'd rather go somewhere else.

Stopped by her tonight for a small dinner. I'm not sure how long they've been open, but I know they've opened recently. Upon walking in, the place is brand new and very clean with modern decorations. I was greeted immediately and sat at the bar. My drink order was taken immediately and I received it shortly after. The sushi Menu has all the traditional rolls and nigiri you'd expect. The menu also has a lot of creative rolls and other rolls they thought up. The regular menu has a wide assortment of non-sushi dishes -- udon, teriyaki, etc. I ordered a tuna and salmon roll and miso soup. Sometimes a good sushi restaurant can be identified by their miso! The soup was good with very flavorful broth. If there's any criticism, it's just that I prefer more and slightly larger bits of seaweed and scallion. That's my own personal preference, of course. The sushi came quickly in a mini sushi boat and had the usual ginger and wasabi, along with a small sample of their seaweed salad. The seaweed salad was delicious and I was glad to be able to try it. The ginger was the pink kind that you can tell had artificial dye added. The sushi itself was very good, though. The fish was very fresh and flavorful. If I had any criticism, it's that the rolls I got were a touch bland. But this is hardly a large criticism. The service was extremely prompt and courteous. My hot tea was always topped off and hot. My food was delivered quickly and I was checked on often. I would highly recommend this place. It's really nice to have something different from the typical pizza/subs/coneys/boring deep-fried crap that's rampant in the New Hudson/South Lyon area. I really hope they stick around!

Great food and great service. Very nice ambience and decor inside - you almost forget this is in a strip mall. They have a wide variety of sushi and rolls thar should serve both the adventurous and not-so-adventurous alike.

Imagine this: jalapenos, stuffed with spicy tuna and cream cheese, coated in panko, deep fried, and served with a sweet sauce. Yeah, I know. Go ahead and wipe the drool from your chin. That's just one app, I've tried a number of sushi rolls here and they have all been tasty. From a simple plain jane tuna roll, to the everything-but-the-kitchen-sink type rolls, everything is fresh, delicious, and presented beautifully. My favorites are the Fuego roll (shrimp tempura, tuna, cucumber, crab, avocado, spicy sauces) and the Fab 5 roll (tuna and shrimp tempura in a cucumber wrap.) Service is excellent, the waitstaff and sushi chefs are incredibly friendly. Don't pass on this one!

EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING! Kensington roll, volcano roll, spicy shrimp tempura, American roll, kiss of fire, and spicy California crunch roll (substituted everything w shrimp) first time here and would for sure come back!!!

I've been meaning to stop in here for awhile, always watching their sign as they started building it. The staff was very friendly, but you could tell didn't know anything about sushi. The owners (?) were extremely nice and polite. I ordered two rolls to go. They were both pretty good - better than Shogun, that's for sure. I thought prices were a little high, but I'm used to going to really good hole-in-the-wall true sushi places that have lower prices. I'd say their prices are average ($5.50-$7.00 for a typical fish roll). The interior was very clean and modern Japanese, and service was remarkably fast. I would come back here again, as this is probably the best sushi in a 5-8 mile radius.

The service was slow as hell, they don't take American Express , aren't kid friendly (not even a booster was offered) I received dirty looks the whole time I was in the restaurant from the waitress. I recommend the sushi but would go with take out. so rude. Never going again

This is definitely the best (and only?) sushi in the Milford/South Lyon area. Try their volcano roll. Extremely nice staff!

I went here with a friend of mine and she had nothing but raves for this new place. IT WAS AWESOME! The decor was nice, the staff was attentive, the sushi was AMAZING! The menu was fairly large with good descriptions of what you're ordering. The price was pretty reasonable. The sushi came to our table fairly quickly. It was a thoroughly enjoyable meal. The only down side was the riff-raffy mom, her equally riff-raffy friend, and her screaming child. That was not the restaurant's fault though. What do you expect when a restaurant is located so close to a Wal-Mart? I will definitely go again!

Great friendly service! Ordered the spicy tuna roll which had just enough spiciness and the tofu roll (was feeling a little healthy that day) granted the tofu was fried but it was nice to have that crunch with the green onions! Also ordered the avocado salad which came in a huge bowl, there was probably at least 3/4 of an avocado in this salad and it was yummy!

Pretty good! Not the most amazing sushi I've ever had in my life but it's worth a try. They don't have brown rice. And, they could definitely use more fish in their rolls. Overall, it was good. The interior is beautiful!!! Nice hardwood floors and the place is very clean.

We have always been pleased with our rolls! I love the the spicy tuna roll-perfect every time. The ginger dressing has a tangy orange flavor.

I love sushi. So when this place opened up near where I live I was really hopeful. Let me tell you it did not disappoint, the sushi is great, and portions are very large. Price is very reasonable for what you get. I always get either the sashimi or sushi deluxe. The interior is very nice and clean. This is my goto restaurant. I would recommend this to sushi and non sushi lovers.

This place is a nice treat in the South Lyon area. We don't have a lot of exotic cuisine, so the last thing I expected was a decent sushi place. The menu is extensive with sushi as well as Korean fare. Everything I tried was good: the chef's choice sushi plate, assortments of crab rolls, tempura chicken appetizer. The service was solid and the prices were reasonable for good sushi in the middle of Michigan. My friend, more of a connoisseur than me, agreed that it was one of the best in metro-Detroit. As a relative novice of sushi, my review must be taken with a grain of salt, but I can certainly say it was tasty. Of course, as a sushi initiate, I would appreciate some simplification or explanation of the massive and complex menu...

Some of the best sushi we have ever had and trust me we have tried a lot. The mermaid roll was one of my absolute favorites. Definitely worth the 30 minute drive!
